evergreen update

We were the sick house for a couple weeks with colds and the stomach bug. I am happy to report, we are well...though I'm nervous to say that out loud (or type it...you know what I mean). Joe is doing well in physical therapy, going three days/week, and no longer using crutches! He is moving around well on his own two feet. He's also seeing our amazing massage therapist a couple days/week. The swelling in his leg and foot is slowly going down and his back pain is finally becoming manageable (or almost). He carries a rolled up towel for whenever he has to be seated for a while. He has signed up for the Boston marathon in April and we've booked hotel rooms. In his words after registering, "Now I just need to walk...then run...fast."

So let's backtrack a bit...

Meme came and took care of the kids while Joe and I took a couple trips recently. We went to a Georgia Tech game (sad outcome) and spent the night with good friends, Julie and Steve. I love my Jules and get so much joy out of seeing her. Plus, she has three really cute kids.

We got back into town just in time to take the kids to the local private school's homecoming game.

Hannah was quite enthralled by the cheerleaders...Joseph was more interested in playing with their megaphones. That's Jones watching the game with Hannah.

Joe and I traveled again a week later for Catalyst Atlanta. Catalyst is a Christian leadership conference started by Andy Stanley. It is an amazing experience with inspirational and incredible speakers and music. It is a "mountaintop experience" and brings us back to the reason why we do what we do in ministry. Jesus. It's all for Him.

Hannah went on a preschool field trip/walk down to the fire station on Friday. She enjoyed it (again), and Joe and I both got to go this time.

Saturday was the Kaolin Festival. This is the first time we were in town and able to go. Hannah thought the T-shirt was plain, so she made hers fancy. {Bows and diamond bling...This was done with Meme, while we were out of town.}

Tractors and big rigs...this is how we do it here.

the fire trucks were very loud!

Then we walked back to the car, very ready for naps! These feet (and one little boy) were tired.

"I like your shoes."
