Hannah at home...

Sorry for the delay in posting. It's not exactly smooth sailing with a newborn in the house! We came home from Savannah on Sunday, the 13th. The first week we had help, which allowed us to get some sort of sleep! The second week we were on our own and did great. Many times she's only gotten us up once during the night, going up to 4 hours between feedings. There have also been several nights where we wake up every hour.

Hannah was three weeks old this past Wednesday. She is doing great! We are a bit tired, but that's to be expected. We are working towards a schedule. Some days and nights are better than others. She's had several visits from her grandparents, and they think she's the best thing ever.

...so do we. This picture is from her newborn photo session. She is our little angel.

Checking-in today...

We got a call from our doctor this morning and one of his patients who was scheduled to be induced tomorrow had their baby. Sooooo, we are going to check in at Candler this afternoon! Tomorrow morning they will start inducing and hopefully we'll meet Hannah before too long!!! Be praying for us please!

Love,
L&J

39 - Hoping for a baby this week!

We had an ultrasound and doctor's appointment this past Thursday. Hannah is doing great - 7lb 7oz, head down and engaged, and practicing her breathing for life outside mommy. Dr. Tucker says she is ready, so we are just waiting for her to make her entrance. We'll head to Savannah on Tuesday for another doctor's appointment, unless we have a baby before then! Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks!

Long-Distance Surprise Shower

Last Sunday we had a long-distance shower, hosted by KK Moore, Allison Rudi, and Anita Casey. They sent us yummy food and fun decorations. We received presents in the mail from family and friends across the country who don't get to see us in person. We had so much fun doing it...right here in our kitchen! Thank you to all who participated. We are so blessed...and Hannah is so spoiled!

We spent last week in Carolina Beach, NC at my mom's family reunion. We had a great time relaxing, swimming, walking on the beach, catching up with family, and eating ice cream and hot doughnuts at the local shops (I couldn't resist adding this last one!). It was so nice to get away and spend time with family we don't get to see very often.
We are now 34 weeks along and finally back at home in Jesup. There is lots to do this month getting ready for Baby Hannah, but we are so excited!!!

Epworth UMC Baby Shower - July 25, 2009

The church hosted a special baby shower for Joe and me. We were completely overwhelmed by the generosity and thoughtfulness of our church family. We had a great time but opening all those presents was exhausting! She got tons of cute clothes, toys, her car seat, pack-n-play, a gift certificate to the photographer we chose, and her Little Lamb infant swing! Sufficient to say, Hannah is one spoiled little girl! We can't wait to introduce her to the great people at Epworth.

Atlanta Baby Shower - July 18, 2009

Jennifer Sineway, Jennifer Trapani, and Sara Yawn hosted a baby shower for me in Atlanta. They did an amazing job!!! (Check out that diaper cake they made!) The food was yummy and I got to catch up with all my Atlanta-area friends and family. Hannah received lots of great gifts including her activity mat and vibrating seat, monogrammed diaper and backpack, and the chandelier for her nursery! Thanks so much to all who came and especially to the beautiful hostesses that made it so special. I love y'all!

10, 9.........Let the countdown begin!

Things are moving on along. And Hannah is growing big and strong (trust me). We just went for a checkup and had another ultrasound. Hannah weighs 3lb8oz and constantly amazes people with how much she moves around in there. During our sonogram, she had one foot up by her head. She is right on track and we are 31 weeks tomorrow! Everybody keeps telling us that she's not going to stay in there for 9 more weeks, but we'll see! She seems content to just kick and punch. Her daddy talks to her all the time and we think she really recognizes his voice. If we want her to move for somebody, all it takes is some coaching from Daddy! Mama is doing well. Backpain is my biggest complaint. I crave a massage every night.

Tomorrow we leave Jesup for 3 long weeks away from home. Joe will be in Kentucky for seminary for two weeks (working on his DMin). I will be with him for the first week. And then we will go to our family reunion at Carolina Beach. That, we are looking forward to! More to come soon...

We are 2/3 of the way there!!!

It is hard to believe that we are in the 3rd trimester! Joe and I have been really busy the last month, and I have been really slack updating the blog! Joe was gone most of May with Navy stuff and this first half of June we have been out of town a bunch. This past week we were in Columbus for annual conference, then on Lake Martin visiting Joe and Jenny Luttrell and the girls (Kitty and Sarah too), and then in Jacksonville where I went with Joe to drill. We had a special date night on Friday having dinner at Maggiano's.

Hannah is doing well. She is a very active little girl! I feel her kick and punch and dance around quite a bit. She especially likes to move around 11 at night when we are lying in bed. Joe has gotten to feel her quite a bit. Her kicks are definitely getting stronger, but I love it!!!

Family Time

After Joe spent the week in Camp LeJeune, NC, we met in Savannah for some time with family. For Mother's Day I got a bunch of sweet cards. Ben and Will gave me Hannah's crib bedding! I was so surprised and excited. Mama gave me a pretty dress and prenatal massages. Oh boy, I can't wait for those!!! Once Joe finishes his Navy duties this month, we can get to work in the nursery.

Hannah is as active as ever - practicing her yoga poses. I'm so proud!

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We are 20 weeks along now and half way! We went to Savannah on Thursday for our ultrasound and to spend time with family for a few days. We are having a girl and her name is Hannah! The full name, Hannah Maddalena Gnann Buck honors our faith with a Biblical name, Hannah's Daddy's family, and Hannah's Mama's family. We are very excited and wore pink to church on Sunday to announce the news!

Happy Easter!!!

Last week was a very busy week for us with church activities every day. We had a wonderful Easter our first year in Jesup. Mama Brooks, Ben and Will came down for church and then we had a fabulous Easter lunch at our house. Little LB had its very own Easter egg that cousin Maddie made! Grandma Brooks had an Easter basket filled with fun stuff including sweet little receiving blankets for Little LB and an assortment of cheese for me (I cannot get enough cheese!) We are welcoming spring with lots of pollen (and unfortunately allergies) and warmer days (pool time!).

17 weeks!

It's been a while since the last post and we are doing well. Baby Buck is growing fast and we are keeping up with development through a day-by-day pregnancy journal that Mama Brooks gave us. We love to read the detailed things that are happening - like toe nails growing and reflex behaviors like blinking, sucking and swallowing. Joe is already coaching the baby for swimming - telling it to practice it's flutter and dolphin kicks.

Baby Buck walked it's first 5k at the Sidney Lanier Bridge Run a couple weekends ago, while Daddy ran (and placed 4th overall!). This past Saturday we (Lindsey and baby) were cheerleaders for Joe as he ran the Jesup Yellow Jacket 5k (where he again placed 4th overall!).

We are looking forward to our big ultrasound on the 23rd of this month!

St. Patricks Day

At 14 weeks, Baby Buck (aka Lil LB - for little little baby) went to it's first St. Patrick's Day parade via Mommy with Daddy, Grandma Brooks and Uncle Will. We waved to Grandma and Granddad Buck on the BOE float!

12 weeks and counting...

We had our 12-week doctor's visit on Friday and got to hear the heartbeat again! We were very relieved to hear that incredible sound. Everything looks good!

The cat is out of the bag. We spent the weekend visiting, calling, and emailing our family and friends. To hear the excited and heartfelt reactions from loved ones truly was wonderful.

Thank you!

Baby Buck is on the way...

We can hardly believe that come September, we will be parents! We feel blessed to carry this responsibility and are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby. Until then, we are enjoying (and sometimes maybe not enjoying) the fun things that come with pregnancy!

Here you can see pregnancy pictures and hear about our adventures during these 9 months...
