baby gear and an update

Our house endured a major transformation upon the arrival of Hannah. Before, we had a nice, uncluttered living room with various accessories, books, magazines, and such. And then. There was all the gear that comes with baby: a pack-n-play for naps, a swing, an infant seat, toys, and later on a highchair and even more toys, bigger toys. This time is different. Our house is pretty much baby-proofed, and it already looks like a kid lives here. Now all that baby gear is down from the attic and we have all of Hannah's stuff. So there's the pack-n-play, the swing, the infant seat, Hannah's little armchair, her horsey, and lots and lots of toys...and that's just in the living room. That's ok with us. It's exciting getting the baby gear set out and ready for Joseph. We are somewhat prepared for the chaos that will ensue in just a short time and realize our house will look like a disaster at times.

Hannah helping Daddy put the swing together. I doubt she remembers how much she loved it and the amount of time she spent time in it.

Now...how to fit everything?

Baby update: no newsflash here. He's still big and above the 97th. He's thriving (obviously) and weighs 7lbs. 12oz. at 36 weeks gestation. This is what Hannah weighed when she was two months old. There's been no change in me, so we are just sitting tight. With Hannah, I was 1-2cm dilated for several weeks, and as you may know, this doesn't really mean anything or help you to pinpoint when you're going to go into labor. As good as my doctor is and as much as I want him to be able to tell me when he thinks the baby's coming, I realize he is not God, and only God knows. He is still planning to induce at 38 weeks. So, unless I go into labor before then, we will have a baby in a couple weeks.
