happy day.

Today we went to St. Simons to the beach. The weather was so nice and we wanted to spend a special day just playing. {The trip didn't start great, as Hannah was a fussbudget most of the ride over. Thankfully, she rectified the situation.} We hadn't been to the beach in a long time so we were wondering if Hannah would even remember it. {We did go briefly in October when we were down in Florida, so there is a slight chance. She would have been 13 months-old then.} Wisely, we didn't count on being there very long. Anybody with small children knows that a "day" at the beach is usually a short stint unless you pack a load of stuff like a tent, umbrella, toys, food and everything else you can think of (and sometimes even then it's a short stint). Regardless, Hannah had a great time. She was very social. She had to say hello to everybody, sit in their chairs, play with their shovels, sandals, soccer balls, what-have-you. She liked chasing the seagulls and playing knee-deep in the water and made a friend her age.{This little boy was the IV and had a baby sister four weeks old...we had quite a bit in common.} After the beach, we went to Five Guys - our favorite place, Target (I know, I know), and then came home.

It was a beautiful day shared with my two favorite people.

 playing with another kid's toys.

her reaction to sandy hands...my child, what can i say?

"borrowing" a shovel to take with her to the water.

 total daddy's girl.

her little hand in his. sweet.

not pleased after falling face and all in the cold water. hey, she wanted to do it on her own.

a perfect rainbow halo around the sun. it was so big, i couldn't get it all.

naked frog washing off the sand.

what trip to brunswick could possibly be complete without five guys?
